Annual Meeting

Wednesday, May 28

6 volunteers needed

Volunteers will assist with registration and serving food between 7-9:30am at Paradigm at Mentor High School.

 

Back To School Bash Clothes Sorting

Ongoing until July 31

Volunteers sort donated clothing to be distributed at the Back to School bash. Sorting is done at United Way of Lake County on a scheduled, as needed basis.

 

Painesville Farmers Market

Thursdays, May 29 – September 18

1-2 volunteers needed per week

Work with United Way staff at the Painesville City Farmers Market.  Volunteers will use a tablet to scan SNAP debit cards and give customers tokens for use at the market. Volunteers will be trained on using a credit card scanner and paper tracking sheet. Volunteers can work the whole market 10:45 – 3:15 or a half-day shift: 10:45 am – 1:15 pm or 1pm – 3:15pm. We would like to have a crew of 5-6 people who can be scheduled throughout the summer. The market is on Painesville Square.

 

Bourbon Event

Thursday, June 26

10 – 12 volunteers

Volunteers will help with set up, directing guests, and registration. The event will be held from 5:30 – 8:30 pm at Andrews Osborne Academy. Volunteers will be needed during the day for set up and/or in the evening during the event.

 

Back to School Bash Event

Friday, August 1 and Saturday, August 2

50 volunteers each day, each shift

On Friday, volunteers will fold and put clothing on tables in the gym at Harvey High School from 9am-12pm.

On Saturday, volunteers are needed from 7:30am – 11:30am or 11:30 – 3:30pm at the Harvey High School gym to keep the clothes organized and assist families with their selection of new and gently worn clothing. At the end of the day, volunteers will load any remaining clothing into boxes and help deliver them to Hope Chest.
