Community Impact Committee

United Way of Lake County Community Impact Committee

Who Decides Where Funds Raised Go? Volunteers Decide.

At United Way of Lake County, a volunteer committee takes on the work of deciding how the funds we raise will be allocated so donors aren’t faced with the daunting task of determining the best way to help the most people.

The community investment process is our method for annually reviewing and evaluating funding applications submitted by nonprofit agencies to determine which programs will receive funds and the level of funding each will receive. These decisions are based upon a thorough review of financial and administrative information, program evaluations and site visits by our Community Impact Committee volunteer members.

With such great need, deciding where to allocate funds can be challenging, so our volunteers rely on research and data to ensure all programs funded are effective, efficient, and result in positive outcomes that benefit Lake County residents in need.
