The Women's Leadership Council of the United Way of Lake County hosted it's fourth annual Women's Winterfest & Holiday Food Tasting fudraiser for women on Thursday, December 3rd from 5:30 pm - 9 pm at the stunning new NOAH'S Event Venue in Mentor. A large crowd of nearly 200 women attended this "feel good" event. "It was the absolute best, most fun Winterfest we've hosted to date", claimed Kathleen Buse, chair of the Women's Leadersip Council and president of Advancing Women in STEM. This same sentiment dominated the evening among food and prizes galore. 18 area restaurants served up delicious food samplings for guests to enjoy, and 35 amazing prizes were raffled off from the evening's chinese auction. Door prizes were also awarded. "The food was mouthwatering. Absolutely delicious - and there was so much to choose from," stated guest Mary Horn. "The prizes this year were the most exciting I've seen yet! Stunning handbags and jewelry, perfume, knit and silk scarves, I didn't know where to put my tickets first," stated repeat Winterfest attendee Kathy Humble. Guests also enjoyed wine, music from DJ Jesse Webb Entertainment, and manicures and chair massages compliments of The Brown Aveda Institute. Women that love to laugh, share a good time AND a great cause filled the venue.

Proceeds from the event help support women of need in Lake County. Due, in large part, to the success of last year's Winterfest, the Women's Leadership Council was able to award generous grants this past summer to Crossroads, Forbes House, WomenSafe, Lake-Geauga Recovery Centers, Lake Health, Suit Yourself, and New Directions for Living. "We look forward to again being able to award generous grants to agencies like these who work hard at making a positive impact on the lives of women in Lake County. The success of this year's event will allow us to do this," stated Buse.
