Attend Our Professional Development Speaker Series “Get Ahead by Giving Back" The Emerging Leaders of United Way of Lake County hosts professional development opportunities such as our “Get Ahead By Giving Back” Speaker Series throughout the year. Our speaker series are held at local establishments and provide a great way to be inspired and learn from local professionals and leaders in the community, and network with likeminded young professionals in a fun, relaxed environment. Each gathering focuses on a facet of our work at UWLC. For example, during the holiday months, we collect food for our “Feed Lake County” drive, and attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable goods as the “entry fee” to our social. Past speakers have included:1. Gabe Rhoads, General Manager of Consumer Engineer Lubricants, The Lubrizol Corporation
2. John Gadd, President & Founder, Hot Cards
3. Zulma Zabala, JD, MPA, CEO of East End Neighborhood House
4. Tiger Laverde, Kirtland High School Football Coach & State Champion
