Meet our 2016 Campaign Chair

Meet Scott J. Marn, United Way of Lake County's 2016 Campaign Chair.

Mentor, OH (June 6, 2016) - Scott J. Marn, CFP®, AAMS®, Vice President – Investments, of Benjamin F. Edwards & Co. in Mentor, has been named United Way of Lake County’s 2016 Campaign Chair.

“United Way of Lake County’s President and CEO, Jennifer McCarty said, “We are excited to have such a dynamic and involved campaign chair for 2016. Scott has already started strong by working to recruit a very energetic campaign cabinet, and we believe he will be able to accomplish great things during this campaign. He has a demanding career and we appreciate him taking on this important role for our organization, and for our community.”

Scott has served on the Mentor City Council since 2000 and also leads the Mentor Economic Development Committee. He lives in Mentor with his wife Wendy and two sons, Dylan and Jagger. Scott is a graduate of Ohio University and is a Certified Financial Planner and a veteran of the financial services industry since 1992.

“I am looking forward to recruiting the support of the Lake County community and working with our dedicated volunteers to make a positive impact for our residents. Our community depends on United Way, and I know that the work of our organization helps to improve people’s lives,” said Marn.

Last year, United Way of Lake County helped fund 66 programs through 43 nonprofit partner agencies.

United Way of Lake County provided over 203,000 meals last year to people who would have otherwise gone hungry. As a result of their efforts, 871 people received substance abuse treatment. They allocated nearly $180,000 to The Salvation Army to support their work. The list of the community programs they help fund is lengthy.
