United Way of Lake County's Women's Leadership Council Grant Awards Program

United Way of Lake County's Women's Leadership Council is accepting 2017 grant funding applications now through March 31, 2017. Click here for details and an application.

The Women's Leadership Council (WLC) began its first annual grant awards program in 2015. A panel of Women's Leadership Council volunteers review grant applications from nonprofit agencies and organizations for programs that directly impact the lives of women in Lake County. After careful review of these, visits and interviews with the nonprofit agencies and organizations are conducted by volunteers who ultimately decide which programs will be awarded fu

Over the last two years, the WLC has proudly awarded grants totalling $38,527. 


2016 Grant Award Recipients

Our 2016 grants were proudly awarded on June 13, 2016 by members of our Women's Leadership Council grant commitee. Grants totaling $19,930 were awarded to the following 9 nonprofit agencies and organizations:

  • Beacon Health
  • Big Brothers/Big Sisters of NEO                            
  • Birthright Lake    
  • Family Planning of NEO  
  • Fine Arts Association                                                              
  • Lake/Geauga Educational Assistance Foundation                                                                     
  • Lake Health Foundation

  • Western Reserve Counseling Centers 

2015 Grant Award Recipients

Last June we  awarded grants totalling $18,597 to the nonprofit agencies and organizations listed below:

  • Crossroads:   Images Programs
  • Forbes House:  New Oven
  • Lake-Geauga Recovery Centers: Exercise equipment for their Oak House and Navaeh Ridge women's facilities
  • Lake Health Foundation: SANE program
  • New Directions for Living: Laptop computer for use by clients
  • Suit Yourself: Clothing
  • WomenSafe: Individual Counseling Project
