United Way of Lake County's Women's Leadership Council Volunteer Projects
The kind of real and lasting change that benefits everyone is only possible when women from all walks of life are willing to roll up their sleeves and go where their time and talent is most needed. Meaningful community solutions require more than money, programs or policies.
Below are some of the volunteer projects our Women's Leadership Council currently has on the calendar. Updates will be added as more information becomes available.
June 2016 (Dates TBD)
Volunteer members of our Women's Leadership Council will be assisting female inmates of the Lake County Jail with one-on-one computer training. Group training sessions will also be held to help educate inmats on job training and resume writing.
July 21, 2016
On Thursday, July 21 from 6 pm - 8 pm volunteer members of our Women's Leadership Council will gather at the Mentor Senior Center to learn how to crochet either baby caps or cancer caps for patients of Lake Health. Following training, members will be off and running in creating caps to be donate to those in need at Lake Health.
September 17, 2016
Volunteer members of our Women's Leadership Council will be assisting residents of Oak House with resume building, interviewing and conducting job searches.
November 5, 2016
Volunteer members of our Women's Leadership Council will be hosting a Day of Caring by pairing volunteers with charitable projects that benefit girls and women in need here in Lake County..
