August 21, 2014 - Mentor, OH - Last year, United Way of Lake County asked you to "Get Connected." This year, United Way of Lake County and its Campaign Cabinet - consisting of nearly 40 volunteers - are asking you to "Stay Connected."

The Stay Connected campaign officially kicked off today at 7:30 a.m. at Lake Erie College with a pancake breakfast, an agency fair, cabinet member introductions and the announcement of the $3.6 million fundraising goal.

This year's campaign is chaired by Lake Erie College President Michael Victor with the help from more than 40 community volunteers who make up the campaign cabinet.

With your help, the United Way of Lake County campaign will soar to new heights.

"When you donate to United Way of Lake County, you can be assured your money is going to the most critical issues in Lake County," said Victor. "Your donation makes an immediate impact in our community and focuses on not just one need, but several needs."

"Please join us this fall as part of our 'Stay Connected' campaign."

United Way of Lake County funds nearly 70 programs in areas of children and families, health and wellness, senior care and basic needs.

When you CONNECT to United Way of Lake County:

  • You aren't connecting to a charity, you are connecting to an organization that creates permanent solutions.
  • United Way is not a "Band-Aid" approach, nor are they singular focused.
  • United Way focuses on the big picture, serves the whole community and creates solutions to Lake County's most critical issues that impact every Lake County resident.
  • United Way focuses on the common good and problems that impact us all.
  • United Way's goal is to successfully change lives for the better and create building blocks for a positive life so we can all LIVE UNITED.
  • United Way is accountable, efficient and they demand results.

President Victor assures donors that when they donate, they connect directly to the results.

Donors can be assured their money is going to the most critical issues because it is not United Way staff who decides where the money goes, it's a group of volunteers who review community issues and programs and determine which programs are effective and efficient. If programs are not producing results, they will not get funded.

Your donations make an immediate impact in our community and focuses on not just one need, but several needs.
