Meet Morris Beverage III, United Way of Lake County's 2018 Campaign Chair

Morris Beverage III, President of Lighthouse Advisers in Mentor is our 2018 Campaign Chair. He’s called Lake County home for over forty years and is passionate about his community and helping others.

Mr. Beverage is a proud graduate of Mentor High School. He earned an Associates of Arts degree from Lakeland Community College before moving on to obtain his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree and his Master’s degree in Business Administration from Cleveland State University.

Before starting his own firm, Mr. Beverage worked for a variety of regional and multinational bank and financial service firms. In January of 2015 he, along with two partners, started M. W. Beverage Financial Services which later evolved into Lighthouse Advisers, an independent financial services firm in Mentor.

Making a positive impact in the community has always been important to Mr. Beverage. According to him, “United Way of Lake County is the best way to help the most people, and positively impacting our community has always been important to me. I’m passionate in my belief that giving should start at home, right here in our own backyard. A strong community where we uplift one another leads to a better life for us all.”

Mr. Beverage is a graduate of Leadership Lake County and recently served as fundraising chair and vice president of the board for the Miracle League of Lake County. Previously, he was a board member for the Lake-Geauga Educational Assistance Foundation (LEAF) and served as a board member and president of the board for the Lake County Historical Society. Mr. Beverage has held numerous fundraising roles to support not only these, but other organizations including the Lake County Free Clinic, Lifeline, Northeast Ohio Family Planning Association, Birthright, Lakeland Foundation, Crossroads, Lake County Humane Society and the Mentor Area Chamber of Commerce. He currently serves as the chair of Lighting the Way, a collaborative biennial fundraiser benefitting the two organizations where he holds board positions, United Way of Lake County and the Lake Health Foundation.

In 2013, Mr. Beverage was inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame at Lakeland Community College. In 2017, he received United Way of Lake County’s Matthew A. Logies Ambassador Award and was also awarded their “Power of One” community impact award.

Perhaps his greatest honor is being father to his son, Morris W. Beverage IV, and husband to his wife Kerri.
